"April Lady", by Georgette Heyer, is a shortish, delightful story of a very young, very well-meaning newlywed lady who, in trying to help others, runs up too many bills! The flavour of the Regency is in full flower here, and Ms. Heyer's prose are as elegent abd sophisticated as always, touched with humour, warmth, and truly three-dimensional /5(5).   But none as much as Lady Letitia, Cardross’ half-sister. She’s a Regency stereotype. She’s a young woman who’s only interests are shopping, and get what she wants. She’s absolutely self-centered, and by the end of the book, she gets what she wants, but she doesn’t change at all. She has zero reasoning capacity. What she wants, she gets. April lady This is a fairly Typical georgette Heyer novel completely ruined by the voice and performance of the narrator. 1 person found this helpful. Buy a cheap copy of April Lady book.
